My name’s Dan. I’m 58 years old. I slipped and tore my meniscus in two. When I slipped, I had two different muscles that was torn in three different places. There was no way that I could be able to even get in and out of the semi. I couldn’t turn my knee in any direction and hold my weight. I couldn’t ride the motorcycle. Basically, couldn’t do a whole lot of anything except sit in an easy chair.
And then I got referred to Dr. Jackson and his staff, I come up, he did the ultrasound, and he couldn’t believe that I walked in by myself without a cane, a crutch. He told me what he could do for me. I’m very happy with it. I think I’ve amazed a lot of people, even myself, on how quick my turnaround was to get back to work. I went back to work in 6 weeks.
My ACL was very, very loose when this happened, and the procedure now has made my ACL as tight as it was if I would have been in my 20s. Before, my pain level was an eight. After the procedure, the first couple weeks, my pain level was probably down to close to a four. The pain level on the knee that had the procedure is probably a half. The knee that needs the procedure now, which I thought was my good one, is probably close to a three every day.
You really don’t know how much wear and tear on your body that you have done until you have a problem, then you get it fixed, then you realize how bad your other one is. My ACL is so loose on this knee now, compared to the knee that had the procedure, that it’s like day and night. The doctor knows his stuff. He did everything that he told me he could do, plus some. I think everything has turned out and worked well. I’m very, very happy.
