Reduce Pain and Improve Elbow Health Without Surgery

Living with elbow pain from conditions like tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, tendon injuries, or osteoarthritis can make everyday activities—like lifting, gripping, or even reaching—uncomfortable and challenging. Whether it’s from overuse or an injury, elbow pain and weakness can disrupt your daily life. Surgery is sometimes suggested as the only option, but there are less invasive treatments that target the root causes of elbow pain without the risks of surgery.

Conventional Treatments May Offer Temporary Relief, Not a Long-Term Solution

For elbow issues such as tendon injuries and osteoarthritis, common treatments like physical therapy, anti-inflammatory medications, and corticosteroid injections may offer temporary relief by reducing pain and inflammation. Unfortunately, these treatments often don’t fully address the root causes of the pain and may not address the underlying tendon or ligament damage, meaning pain and limited function may persist or worsen over time.

When these conservative or common treatments no longer offer enough relief, surgery—like Tommy John surgery for ligament repair—is frequently recommended. However, elbow surgery comes with challenges, including a lengthy recovery period, limited elbow mobility , and potential complications like infection or stiffness. While surgery can reduce pain, it may not fully restore strength and function, and some patients may require further treatment or additional surgery.

Fortunately, there are alternative treatments that reduce the need for surgery.

I take the time to let my patients tell me their whole story, including their goals and challenges, and perform a thorough musculoskeletal exam. I take a whole-body, holistic approach to my patients, and work with my patients to get them “back into their game”.
